Whatever Ryan, these still look great :p Did you do these on a bristol pad?
I used a 9x12 watercolor sketchpad. It doesn't say, but I think it's bristol vellum. At least, it was the closest I could find at the shop, and it has a lot of control to it. I really like using it. The paints were a 6$ set.
